Alle dukkene blir håndsydd og kvalitetssikret i alle ledd før de blir sendt ut på markedet.
Dagens brukere i Norge består av Forsvaret, brannvesen, flyplasser, politi, NSB, treningssenter og helseforetak spredt over hele landet.
Disse dukkene er også i bruk over hele Europa, og har hundrevis av fornøyde brukere som benytter disse til et bredt spekter av øvelser og situasjoner.

Ruth Lee Ltd was founded over 30 years ago in the Kensington area of Liverpool. Ron and Ruth Lee owned a small business that employed a number of sewing machinists that specialised in the repair of Silver Cross prams.

A family friend who at the time worked for Merseyside Fire Brigade approached Ruth to see if she would be able repair one of their own inhouse made training manikins which was made from hessian sacking and old hose.

Ruth being the entrepreneur that she is said that she could make something better and the first Ruth Lee Training Manikin was born. Merseyside Fire Brigade were so impressed that they placed an order for more manikins straight away. Ruth then approached Cheshire Fire Brigade and North Wales Fire Brigade with the training manikins and they quickly followed suit and placed orders.

The company then moved to the town of Corwen in Denbighshire, North Wales where the family home became the new workshop with the attached barn being converted to accommodate all the equipment needed to manufacture the training manikins. Ruth toured the whole of the UK demonstrating the training manikins to the numerous brigades to the point where we supply 100% of the UK Fire and Rescue Services.

Ruth Lee Fire and Rescue Equipment became Ruth Lee Ltd in 1999 with Ruth's daughter, Susan Edwards, becoming Managing Director. The company relocated to a former school in the centre of Corwen in 2001 and have twice had to expand the premises to cope with the rapid growth in the company.

The company now employs 21 people and has achieved the Investors in People Gold Award in recognition of the excellent working environment.

Almost certainly: 100% of the UK's Fire Services, Police and Ambulance.
We developed our water rescue dummy with the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) and the British Navy, we also have also supplied the British Ministry of Defence (MOD) for over 15 years.
All the UK's international airports use our products, along with several aviation training centres; we also supply many chemical and oil companies as well as offshore drilling facilities.
We now export over 60% of our production, with the USA, Australia and Germany being our biggest markets.

Susan Edwards - Operations Director

Susan Edwards

Susan, daughter of founder Ruth Lee, joined the company in 1989 and started by assisting in the manufacturing of the training manikins and various other products. Assisting Ruth in the running of the company soon became Susan's primary role with the processing of orders and dealing with customers.

When Ruth retired from the business in 1999, Susan took over as Managing Director and continues to lead the company from the front. Susan is responsible for all HR issues and was instrumental in the company achieving Investors in People: Gold award and firmly believes that the staff are the key asset to the company, which results in a very low staff turnover. Susan is also responsible for the maintainence of the ISO9001:2008 Quality System which the company has held for the past 12 years.

Lawrence Lee - Export Director

Lawrence Lee

Lawrence, son of founder Ruth Lee, was a firefighter for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service for 17 years before joining the company in 2001. Lawrence brought with him the knowledge and expertise of being at the front line of firefighting and the product line of manikins rapidly expanded under Lawrence's guidance.

Lawrence is responsible for the expansion of Ruth Lee outside of the UK and set up an international distributor network which currently accounts for 65% of all business accross 28 different countries.

Research and Development is a passion of Lawrence's and he works closely with end users to further improve the manikins as well as develop new products.

Stuart Cheetham - UK Sales Manager

Stuart Cheetham

Stuart joined the company in 2011 to enable the company to move forward with its strategic plans and brought with him 10 years sales and digital marketing experience. Stuart was instrumental in the implementation of the company's new IT system and CRM package and continues to move the company forward with digital online marketing and product promotion in the form of exhibitions, editorial and demonstrations.

Stuart firmly believes that face to face contact is the key to build strong relationships with customers, much in the way that Ruth would visit Fire Services to showcase the manikins, hence why Stuart can now be found visiting customers up and down the country!
 

Gaynor Evans - Despatch Manager

Gaynor Evans

Gaynor joined the company in 1998 and during that time has worked in every single department within the company! This experience within the company means that Gaynor has a knowledge of the products like no other. Gaynor has 20 years experience in logisitics and became Despatch Manager in 2011. She is responsible for ensuring that all orders are processed correctly and that all orders are despatched within the quoted timeframe. Gaynor will always endeavour to get the best price and service for your order that she can... She won't give the business to her own husband's haulage firm if she can get a better price elsewhere!
